Downtown Newark FilmClub sets the tone

This short film is the first film written, directed, and filmed by the Downtown Newark Film Club, in 2019. I remember this day because it was the first day I showed up to film with a new group of people who I din't know intimately. Though, I didn't know them I was ready to put the work and lend my creativities towards the fulfilling cause of creating a short film with a team full of people that looked like me. I was happy to give as much as my body was willing to give and, even more of my mind when the time permitted to have new visual thoughts inserted. And I did give my suggestions which were accepted and played into the shooting style for some scenes.

A unique intro to the indie movie industry

I was the 1st AD and on set of Triggers, my role definitely crossed departmental roles while "rolling" and no one felt the need to make it a conflict...unlike [what I experienced later] on industry movie sets. Because our group was small and independent I was able to fill the shoes of so many positions in one day. I was proud of this experience. It reeled me in for more, more, more.
