"It felt good to talk and think to myself; as if I was creating worlds inside of worlds. Each with a different job on a similar mission."

I wanted to start this project from a place of wisdom. I knew I had nothing to prove, not even to myself. No matter, I knew I had this will to create the most precious moment in time. All of that sounds fascinating and poetic, but it was the visual representation of relating my thoughts to connect with those who didn't think along the same path as I, that drove me. It harden in my veins, while stimulating my blood. Blood, water, and ease, it all rushed within me ever so calmly. And, I decided, "let me stand in the place of a rational puzzle-maker and problem-solver."  So I accepted the assignment of composing a visual of multiple layers using the Abode Photoshop program. Simple. Bomb! Let me not do too much but just enough to show you that I can. So, I did. I zoned out and focused in on the special effects I wanted to achieve.  Here are the results: The Book Cover.

I made a storyline through collage. I knew someone would take time.

A unique beginning

There's an actual clear visual behind the painting smears and streaks. One that strikes you with purposeful thoughts about ones own life, self, and pride in your choosing if you so choose to look at yourself. I think that we leave too much up to others to decide for us, for the fear of being wrong. I know, I have at times. Now that I care less about the opinion and comfort of others when it comes to my personal existence, I am well aware that I was giving my power and peace away. I could care less at this point. It's all on me to think, decide, and do. And I shall. I wasn't as aware of what my creation expelled until I showed a friend of mine, two years later.

“This is the modern day version of The Road Less Traveled by Robert Frost.” - Garrett L. Butler

It took me at lest two conversations about this piece and a full night of listening to a recording of Robert Frost reciting his poem, The Road LessTravelled, on Youtube to see what Garrett was actually telling me. Initially, I just did not see it. He did and when I finally realized it, I knew exactly what was missing: motion within the visual. So, I created the visual linked below. Leave a comment on the Youtube video saying what your thoughts are on this piece.

The ending of the short is an amazing experience

Softly, focus on the book in the white space. See the thin gold rimmed glasses and listen to the voice of a man who understood the complexity of the journey of life. Hear the moment he decided to continue forth with his journey, for his initial decision to choose a path, was still the best decision for him. Note his words, let them  resonate with you and find comfort in realizing that you are not alone. We, the people, [and as individuals] must continue to push forward and fulfill our hearts truest desires...and sometimes it's on the road less travelled by others. So we must persist to experience a story to tell; the journey.
